Our policy experts promote common-sense, bipartisan economic policies. They work with policymakers to shape our state's budget and to make sure that it sustainably invests in the long-term progress of Washington. They pay particular attention to how state budget and policy decisions advance racial equity and impact families with low and moderate incomes. The goal? To advance policies that prevent Washingtonians from falling through the cracks, and that allow everyone to have the chance to get ahead.
Our Progress Index, the only comprehensive state-of-the-state report of its kind, offers meaningful data and commentary in six key areas that affect Washington's well-being: economic security; education; healthy people and environment; good jobs; community development and trust; and revenue. Featuring comprehensive analysis and common-sense policy proposals, the Progress Index has become the go-to resource for policymakers to make decisions about how to shape the budget and strengthen the state economy.
