We're committed to teaching responsible recreation and stewardship to an increasingly diverse and ever-expanding community. We've been doing this for 110+ years, with the goal of sharing our deep love of outdoor exploration to inspire lifelong adventure and stewardship, and so the wild places we cherish will endure into the future.

• Today, our commitment to stewardship has never been more important, as the wild places we love have never been at greater risk.
• Today we must raise our collective voice and step up our efforts to engage more people in the outdoors so that more people can appreciate the essential role that nature plays in our lives, and the role it plays in the health and well being of future generations.
• Today, as the institutions tasked with protecting the natural world face significant threats at the local and national levels, we need to step up our efforts to engage more people in the effort to protect and enhance the wild places we love.
• This work is not done, and will never be done - our national parks, our trails, waterways and public lands depend on us, and we are up for the challenge.

To lead the effort to protect and enhance the wild places we love, we need to take action, with a focus on our core values, including:
• Education: We will continue to share our knowledge to empower others to safely and responsibly pursue outdoor activities.
• Adventure: We will continue to be bold explorers-driven by imagination, outdoor challenge, and the spirit of discovery.
• Advocacy: We will grow our efforts to protect the outdoor experience - wild places depend on our powerful voice for responsible access and conservation.
• Volunteerism: We will continue to foster connections by developing leaders who will build on our legacy of outdoor education, integrity and action.
• Community: We will strive to provide opportunities for all because a diverse and inclusive outdoors inspires unity, respect, and passion for the places we love.
Our $10,000 matching dollar-for-dollar gift for GiveBig was provided through generous support from Peak Society members Rich and Martha Draves.
