Street Yoga

Through yoga and mindfulness classes, Street Yoga provides tools for homeless youth to overcome suffering, cope with trauma and stabilize their lives.

We accomplish this in two ways:

1. Offering trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness classes at organizations that serve youth who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

2. Training professionals in trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness techniques to work with youth who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

At Street Yoga we believe that access is a social justice issue. Everyone deserves the healing benefits yoga and mindfulness offer. Reaching out to under-served youth populations is our mission, and we serve youth who are dealing with homelessness, drug and alcohol addictions, abuse, behavioral and mental health issues. We help this population by providing two primary services:

1. Equipping youth-focused service professionals and yoga teachers (in the USA and Canada) with tools to bring yoga and mindfulness classes into the work they are doing with young people with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

2. Offering trauma-informed (and as needed, population-specific) yoga and mindfulness classes to organizations serving these youth in the King County region of Washington.
