Photographic Center Northwest (PCNW) is located in the Central District neighborhood of Seattle and has a rich history as a publicly-accessible facility and resource for community connection. In addition to 10-week classes, short-form workshops, and weekend-long crash courses we offer a 53-credit certificate program favored as a post-bac credential for those seriously interested in building a creative practice. We support practitioners through affordable access to comprehensive photographic facilities including: darkrooms, studios, digital labs, and a library; and offer a platform for dialogue and low-barrier access to the arts through free exhibitions and public programming. In 2015-16 alone PCNW hosted 28 free and discounted public programs including studio visits, artist lectures, professional seminars, and panel discussions alongside 6 exhibitions and 119 classes and workshops. More than 3,600 individuals experienced our programming, in person.
