Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington's mission is simple and clear. With your help, support and contributions, we do one thing: create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Wishes aren't just a nice thing; they are a necessity. Research shows, and physicians agree, a wish can help improve a child's quality of life and produce better health outcomes. These life-changing wishes replace fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope - helping children battling critical illnesses see the impossible as possible.

Every day, at least one child in Alaska and Washington is diagnosed with a critical illness. Not all of these children receive a wish because we don't have the funding or the number of volunteers needed to grant all of their wishes. We can change that with increased support.

Wish families are your friends, neighbors and relatives. Your contribution can transform the lives of children with critical illnesses.

A wish is an experience that has the power to transform the life of a child, a family and a community…forever.
Each year, we rely on the support and generosity of our community to donate their time, skills, money and miles to grant the wishes of those children who are waiting. Our volunteers are the frontlines of our organization and work in partnership with our staff to leverage as many in-kind donations as possible so our dollars may be stretched. Additionally, we rely on our Board of Trustees to lead our organization through their giving and to open doors to their personal and professional networks so we can raise money for wish-granting.
