Since our founding in 1970, Environmental Works has helped hundreds of organizations create affordable housing, community facilities, shelters, food banks, and child care centers serving thousands of people in need. We specialize in community design, a collaborative process that engages staff, residents, and other users in decision-making about their space.

Do you care about growing homelessness in our region? If so, please join us in supporting a research project to make permanent supportive housing - low-barrier housing with wraparound support services - better for people experiencing chronic homelessness! Your 2018 GiveBig donation will support an innovative research project to assess which design features in permanent supportive housing best foster thriving communities. Based on resident and staff input and facility assessments, we'll create a user-friendly report to guide housing providers, architects, government agencies, and the public. Thank you for helping to maximize resources for people experiencing homelessness!
