Community Lunch has been providing critical services to food insecure people in Seattle for 31 years. Originally founded by a group of local churches in 1985, Community Lunch incorporated as a nonprofit and received its 501(c)3 status in 2003.

Community Lunch has grown from serving just 10 people at each meal in 1985, to serving more than 240 people on a regular basis today-- totaling 50,000 meals this year. We collaborate with dozens of businesses to receive donations of food and supplies, and have a network of over 2,000 volunteers who make our programs extremely cost effective by preparing, cooking and serving the meals.
