The Chelan-Douglas CASA Program was founded in 1994 by a group of foster parents who were concerned that many children were languishing in the social service system because of inadequate representation at hearings. Today, our program has over 80 volunteers dedicated to representating the child's best interests during court proceedings. Studies have shown that when a CASA volunteer is assigned to a case, the child has fewer and more appropriate foster care placements, is able to find a permanent home sooner and spends less time in the social service system.
