Founded in 1961, the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is the largest grassroots network dedicated to fighting Parkinson's disease (PD) and works tirelessly to assist the more than 1 million Americans with Parkinson's disease live life to the fullest in the face of this chronic, neurological disorder. APDA has raised and invested more than $170 million to provide outstanding patient services and educational programs, elevate public awareness about the disease, and support research designed to unlock the mysteries of Parkinson's disease and ultimately put an end to this disease.. APDA Northwest aims to fulfill our mission locally by educating and empowering those in our community challenged with Parkinson's by promoting hope and optimism through innovative services and programs, and funding vital local and national research. We are known for providing assistance where it is needed most. Our signature programs that directly support people impacted by Parkinson's disease include (please refer to "featured programs" for more detailed descriptions):

* Live Well education program, offered regionally around the Northwest with a focus on health and wellness
