Lutheran Ministry Services Northwest

The driving purpose of Lutheran Ministry Services NW is to bring the healing touch of Christ's love to those in Puget Sound area hospitals, care centers, prisons, and anywhere else people need this Christian ministry. LMSN serves ANYONE who reaches out for spiritual care. We serve those who are hurting in our community as the Hands, Feet, and Heart of Jesus.

Lutheran Ministry Services NW began in 1938 when three visionary women met with their pastor to discuss creating a greater purpose consciousness in the Puget Sound region. The first full time chaplain was called in 1942 to provide spiritual care in area hospitals, care centers, and jails. For 79 years this ministry has continued to serve the sick, the lonely, and the incarcerated of this community. Chaplains and volunteers visit hospitals and care centers daily, ready to tend to each patient's spiritual needs with God's Word, songs of praise, and prayers for comfort and peace. In our prison ministry, chaplains and volunteers offer bible studies and minister to individuals. When God's people face life's most faith shaking experiences, LMSN is there to provide the much needed spiritual support for both patient and family.
